Pastor
Sylvester Johnson was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 14,
1959. Being an Air Force dependent, he traveled all over the
world, living in places such as the Philippine Island, Germany,
Alaska, and numerous states in the United States.
His
journey of ministry started early. Having accepted Christ as a
young man, Sylvester accepted his call to ministry at age
seventeen. Sylvester Johnson attended Wilberforce
University, Garrett Theological Seminary and Oral Roberts
University Graduate School of Theology. He has a Masters
Degree in Divinity after the completion of one additional
semester.
Sylvester
is married to Rena Johnson. They are the parents of two sons,
Kenny Renale and Kitt Arnett. Presently, Sylvester is a retired
teacher, has one daughter-in-law and three grandchildren.
As a
couple in ministry, Sylvester and Rena serve as the pastors of New
Life Family Worship Center in Chicago, Illinois. Both
Sylvester and Rena have made a commitment to building up the
saints. It is commonplace to find them carrying the Word
abroad in retreats and conferences.
The
year of 2003 marked eight years of victorious service for New Life
Family Worship Center ministry. As ordained by the Holy
Ghost, the ministry assigned to Sylvester and Rena is one that
emphasizes the restoration of the family, the enthusiastic praise
and worship, and the empowerment of the believer to do the work of
the ministry. Without waiver, these emphases are
administered by the declaration and proclamation of God’s Word. |
